Hoodie Dress - Sketch

The first steps towards making my own dress!

For a little while now I’ve been wanting to make my own dress.
But of course I wanted it to be representative of me. So I came up with the idea of mixing a hoodie with a dress.

Step 1 - Gather Reference

While I could find many “hoodie dresses” they were all a bit casual for me. I wanted to mix casual with fancy.
But having found a few I also decided to add a few dresses with cool elements I found, especially elements that could be used to tie the fancy part to the casual part.

Step 2 - Draw Sketch

Now with the references on hand I was confident enough to start my sketch. As you can tell, the dress component isn’t anything like my references but this is what I imagined in my mind.

Step 3 - Improve Sketch

My next step will be improving the sketch and adding some of those connecting components from the references. Right now it feels like it’s not quite a cohesive whole but it’s a very good start at least!
